I washed two sheet sets and one lightweight summer blanket during the test. The sheets came out crisp, clean, and comfortable, especially the cotton set we use most often. They didn’t have the strong “laundry product” scent that some people really love, but they felt fresh against the skin and seemed to store better in the closet without picking up that slightly stale fabric smell.

If your family associates clean sheets with a lavender or meadow scent, vinegar may disappoint on that front because it leaves behind almost no fragrance. In my house, that was perfectly fine. I’d rather have bedding smell neutral than overly scented. One of my kids, who can be picky about “scratchy” sheets, didn’t complain once after the vinegar rinses, which I counted as a win.
